Well, Sunday weddings are definitely less expensive…however if you’re having people travel, it might be a good idea to do it on a Friday instead? Fridays and Sundays are usually a LOT cheaper than Saturdays…that’s for sure. May 30th…that’s funny, that’s the same day as my friend Leeanne’s wedding this year! Love you sister!!!
Is there a special ‘day’ that you two have – i.e. anniversary of first date, first day you met, etc? Using that can be a good way to pick your wedding day.
Which day of the week will depend greatly on where you want to have the wedding too. Some places will be booked up way in advance, while others aren’t – just depends.
I personally like Sat. weddings best for the fact that out of town guests can usually come in on Fri, rest & relax, visit and such rather than rushing in at the last minute to make it to the ceremony on time.
Sundays can be also problematic between guests attending church in the morning (and possibly having to travel for hours right afterward) and then guests who have to rush out to head back home before it gets too late since they will probably have to work on Monday – and it is no fun to pay a lot for a big reception only to have people leave early.
Doug & I actually did get married on a Sunday, because the ‘date’ was special for us; we were able to have the boys there with us; and we were able to have the time off work for a 2 day honeymoon!
Weekday weddings may be difficult for anyone who works or who has to travel any distance.
The main thing is to find a day that works for you & Brock, then see if the core group of people that you want there will be able to make it. If they have enough advance notice, hopefully they will all be there to help you celebrate the big day.
Just checking the calendar –
My computer calendar says May 30, 09 is Sat. &
May 31st Sun. Which will probably make it the weekend after Memorial Day.
If you think it might be one of these days, I’ll mark my calendar & we’ll be there!!!
Quick reminder – for this year,
May 1 Brooklyn turns 6
May 27 Brad turns 28
May 28 Chuck & Susan will have their 60th wedding anniversary!
(June- 9th Aeri, 11th Bryce, 13th Sherry)
Im thinking…May 30th, sunday 2009? hmmm…sound good? Or June 1st Monday?
